Cookie Policy
This website does not use cookies. It sets none of its own, and it loads nothing that would set any on someone else's behalf.
That is why you were not asked to accept anything when you arrived. Consent is required for storing information on your device or reading information already stored there. This site does neither, so there is nothing to consent to, and a banner asking you to would be theatre.
What that means in practice
- No analytics. No Google Analytics, no pixels, no heatmaps, no session recording. We do not count you.
- No third-party embeds. No social widgets, no comment systems, no chat bubbles, no maps, no video players.
- No fonts fetched from anyone else. The typefaces are served from this domain, so opening a page sends no request to Google or any other font host.
- Almost nothing kept in your browser. No session storage, no IndexedDB, and one small exception described in the next section.
- Your language is in the address, not in storage. Spanish pages live under
/es/and English pages under/en/. Switching language changes the URL; it saves nothing.
The one thing we do store
If you use the light/dark switch in the menu, your choice is saved in your
browser's local storage under the name gk-theme, with the value light or
dark. That is the entire content.
It is written only when you press the switch. It never leaves your device — it is not sent to us, it is not readable by anyone else, and it is not an identifier: it cannot distinguish you from any other person who prefers the same theme. Clearing your site data removes it, and the site then opens in light mode as it does for a first-time visitor.
We are not asking consent for it because none is required. Consent is needed for storage that is not necessary to provide what you asked for; remembering a setting you deliberately chose is the setting working as intended. If you would rather it were not stored, don't use the switch — nothing else writes anything.
What our server does record
Serving a page means receiving a request, so our web server keeps ordinary access logs — the page requested, the time, the browser's user agent, and the IP address the request came from. These are used to operate and secure the site. They are not linked to a person, not combined with anything else, and not shared with advertisers or data brokers.
The Gakudo app
This policy covers this website only. The Gakudo product is a separate service with its own account, and how it handles data is described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes
If we ever add anything that does set a cookie, we will update this page first and ask for consent before it loads. If you want to check rather than take our word for it, your browser's developer tools will show you every request this site makes and every cookie it stores.
